March 2017 KARG Monthly Meeting
Firstly, KARG would like to extend our condolences to the family of our former member Donnacha Brosnan EI6HQ, of Killarney Rd, Castleisland & Rahoon, Galway, who passed away on 17th March. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. May he rest in peace
Thanks to all members that attended the monthly KARG meeting yesterday. Tom EI3AL gave a very good presentation on his recent project - the arduino keyer, which club members found very interesting. It is always very interesting to see members projects and the learnings made along the way to completion.
KARG would like to welcome our newest members Krishna EI4HAB and Sukumar (SWL) to the club. We look forward to your participation in the upcoming events
A good open discussion was had on a number of other topics and upcoming KARG events.
The first event will be the Maurice Collins Vintage Day at Banna on Easter Sunday (16th April), where KARG will set up possibly 2 working stations for display to the public, in an effort to promote the hobby locally.
The following day, Easter Monday, of course is the annual 2M IRTS Counties Contest, where KARG hope to give out some points from Kerry.
The week after that, is the International Marconi Day (Sat 22nd Apr). KARG will set up on Friday 21st per usual at the site of the former Marconi station in Ballybunion, and tear down on Sunday morning. We will run several stations covering SSB/CW and Data modes. This has been a super event for a number of years now.
Visitors and members from other clubs are very welcome to come along and join in the fun.
The next KARG meeting will be held on Sat 29th April at the Killarney venue at 11am.
As always, these events would not be possible without the support of club members, so all members are invited to attend and help out. For further information on these events contact any club officer.
