Thanks to all that attended yesterdays KARG monthly meeting. Plans for upcoming events were finalized, the primary one being the International Lighthouse & Lightship (ILLW) Weekend on Aug 20th/21st. Stations will be prepared on the Friday and will be QRV as EI1K for the duration of the event on 80M to 4M bands. We will also have a DMR link in operation during the event.
We encourage as many members as possible to come along and operate for a while, to lighten the load on others. It certainly looks like this years event is going to build on the success of previous years, which is a great credit to the club and its members. As always, visitors are very welcome.

Other upcoming events include the SSB field day starting Sat 3rd Sept, and the Fossa Field Day on Sun 11th Sept. Plans are at an advanced stage for these events.Again we encourage all members to support these events.

Remember the NCRG will hold their annual radio rally at the Commons Inn, Mallow Road, Cork on Sun 28th Aug. Doors open 11am, with ???5 entry fee.

We would also like to thanks John EI9ESB for his presentation and demo on Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) which was very interesting, and highlighted current cutting edge trends in communication technology.

The EI9FVB Foldable Cobwebb was also set up and  in use with the club radio for members to use at the meeting.
It is planned to give a presentation on the construction of this unique antenna at next months KARG meeting in Killarney on Sat 27th Aug at 11am.

Once again thanks to all that came along and hope to see ye all there again at next months meeting, where we will be discussing highlights of the ILLW weekend, and finalizing plans for SSB Field Day and Fossa Field Day events
