A big congratulations to KARG members Billy EI7CQB and John EI9ESB on winning the SSB/CW Portable section of the recent IRTS 40M Counties Contest. They operated from Co Limerick using the EI1K/p callsign, and racked up a respectable score 3124, by making 43 QSO's and working 22 Counties, over the duration of the contest.

In the SSB Portable section KARG were again represented by Declan EI9FVB who came second in this section, working portable from Brosna (WAI square Q11) and activated Kerry in the contest. Again a respectable score of 3640 was attained by working 56 QSO's and 20 Counties. As always Kerry is in great demand, as it is for most IRTS County contests, so other KARG members are encouraged to get involved.

Simple dipole antennas were used by entries, and the weather made it a very enjoyable day indeed for some radio fun in the fresh air and sunshine....

The next meeting of KARG will be a week earlier than usual, on Saturday 20th June at the upstairs Cafe in Manor Retail park shopping centre per usual, at 11am.

Preparations are being made for the IRTS 80M Counties Contest on Sunday 21th June, where it is hoped that KARG can put a station on from the county. Most likely location is Brosna. Location as follows,
